  1. I just bought a 2000 chrysler sebring convertible, the factory radio/cassette does not work. I have a new never used 2001 chrysler town and country radio-cd/cassette player that I took out of the vehicle so I could get XM installed. Will this fit in my 2000 chrysler sebring? anyone? Thanks.

  2. I would like to replace my faulty cd changer in my 2001 Chrysler Town and Country. Can I replace with an MP3 player? If yes, please advise the models I can buy. Will I be able to use the same wiring used in the CD changer or do I need to do additional wiring? Can you please advise about the wiring if I need to change. Thanks

  3. I have replaced the factory radio in my ’99 Town and Country, I have power but no sound in the aftermarket radio. I have wired everything color for color on the plug and hooked the factory amp wire to the remote turn-on wire on the radio plug, hooked the ground strap directly to the radio because there is no ground hook-up on the plug. Any ideas?

  4. Alex, yes you can add a subwoofer to your factory 2001 Chrysler Town and Country radio. You would need five components:

    1. Car Subwoofer
    2. Car Subwoofer Box
    3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
    4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
    5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.

First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Chrysler Town and Country amplifier and subwoofer installation.

  5. what would i need to buy to add an amp and a sub woofer to my 2001 t&c on the factory head unit… i just need a cheep temporary way because i plan on getting a new vehicle by x-mas but have a sub and a an amp

  6. Louis, its sounds like your 2001 Chrysler Town and Country radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Chrysler dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your 2001 Chrysler Town and Country radio.

  7. I have a 2001 T&C. Took off battery cable while working on car. After I reattached the battery cable, the radio will not come on but the equalizer lights on blinking in a pattern, bright, dim, off. Fuses are good and CD player will load and eject cds as it should.

Any ideas what this could be?

  8. Ted, some car stereo shop are not as experienced with high end audio systems that have a factory amplifier built in. They may charge more because they plan on bypassing the factory amplifier and re-wiring the entire system. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Chrysler Town and Country stereo troubleshooting.

  9. Just picked up my moms 2001 Chrysler town country Limited from a local car stereo shop. They are having problems getting sound out of the speakers and are telling me the installation is going to cost double. Also, that I need to bring it back in the morning. Does this sound right?

  10. Mike, the amp wire on the stock radio should connect to the remote turn on wire on your sony radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your car stereo installation.

  11. Mr Gsingh, your 2004 Chrysler Grand Voyager may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  12. I put in an after market stereo in my 2004 chrysler grand voyager but can not get sound from the speakers can you help?
