  1. I am trying to install an aftermarket radio in a 2000 toyota solara with the JBL sound system. I am having trouble matching the wires. Where do I attach the red amp wire? Is this something where I would have to buy the amp bypass harness? can anyone help?

  2. Radio in car does not work right after coming out of a car shop and they had to remove the back glass. where is the antenna plug in for the back glass. maybe they didn’t hook it up after having put the glass back in. The channels on the radio do not pick up well at all but the cd player is fine. just need to know where is the antenna wire hookup on the back glass. The antenna is made into the glass on my 2000 toyota solara. please help. anyone?

  3. I don’t have a pink wire in my car. And tried hooking up every aftermarket wire to my factory wires and it doesn’t do anything. The new stereo got power, but no sound… can anyone help, please. anyone?

  4. Sally, most late model vehicles do not have aux input on the back of the factory radio. You will need an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the adapter you will need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Toyota Solara aux input adapter installation.

  5. I would like to know if there is a way to connect my droid x phone to my car stereo using the accessory plug that’s already in the car. I have not seen a usb port in the car so I suppose there is not one. Is there an adapter that can be purchased to accomplish this. Thanks for your time.

  6. Lee, it sounds like your radio is mechanically faulty. Unfortunately, you may have to have your 2000 Toyota Solara radio dismantled by a qualified car audio repair shop in order to remove the CD’s that stuck in there. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Toyota Solara stereo troubleshooting.

  7. The d player in my 2000 toyota solara has not been playing properly. Sometimes it will read a cd and sometimes not. Today I put 3 cd’s in to listen to a book on cd and it played the first and then gave an err 3 reading. Now I cannot get it to play or eject the three cds. What should I do?

  8. I have a 2001 Solara and the radio works great when the car engine is off, however, when I start the car the bass on the radio sounds like it is vibrating and is booming. This is not a speaker blown or the bass too high. It is annoying. When I play a CD there is no problem – so it is the radio and related to when the engine is running. Do I need a new radio? Or is there a crossed wire? or?

  9. those wire codes are ‘mostly’ correct. The color codes for the wires to the amp are as follows: (these wires are in the shield). These are for the Solara’s with the premium JBL system

    Brown – mute
    Blue – front left speaker
    Black – front right speaker
    Red – beep
    Yellow – rear left
    Green – rear right
White – is common ground for all speakers

outside the shielded group of wires is:

    Red – amp
along with the power wires mentioned above.
If your solara came with an Amp is located behind the glove box

  10. i have a 2000 toyota solara and i have hooked up an after market stereo but the cd player is not working i know i have to disconnect the amp but dont know where its at. Anyone know where the stock amplifier is located?

  11. My factory radio says Err3 on it…….any suggestions how to fix it? Also need 2000 solara factory radio removal diagram
