Application Wire Color and Location
Parking Light Positive Wire (+) Gray/Red and Gray/Black (Use Both). The hidden release tab for the headlight switch is on the upper left side of the switch. You must cut both of the parking light wires and isolate the switch side of the wires with a relay so that the switch does not see (+) 12 volts. You can also use the hazard wires the black/white and black/green these are (+) positive wires and are located at the steering column. Requires (2) relays.

Dome Light Supervision Wire Use Door Trigger (Requires Relay)
Dome Light Supervision Wire Location N/A
Trunk Release Positive Wire (+) Gray (Requires Relay). The gray wire is grounded by the hatch release switch at rest, cut this wire in half and use a relay to isolate the switch side of the trunk release wire from seeing (+) 12volts.

Horn Negative Positive Wire (+) Black/Yellow
Horn Negative Positive Wire Location At Alarm Module. The alarm module, is located behind the headlight switch.

  1. Karen, as much as we would like to help you, not all car alarms are installed the same way. Different brands and different setups will call for different wiring. Our advice is to take your car to a qualified alarm installer and ask them how to disarm the alarm because it does take some wiring knowledge and experience to know what to do. Hope this helps.     where do I find the wires to bypass the alarm. My remote doesn’t work I disconnected battery cable to change battery and now car won’t start. I input key in door lock that didn’t work – red light on lock continues to blink. There’s suppose to be an emergency override someplace on the car. any ideas where it might be? I have a 1998 volkswagen cabrio.
