  1. Carlos, technically you could connect your 1998 Ford Explorer amp remote wire to the stereo switched 12v+ wire. That way your amp is on whenever your 1998 Ford Explorer is on and off whenever your 1998 Ford Explorer is off. Be sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amp remote wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1998 Ford Explorer amp install.

  2. Does anyone have info about what wire to used to connect my 1998 Ford Explorer amp remote cable pls? thank you

  4. I am trying to install an amp in my 1998 Ford Explorer. There is no “amp trigger” wire, any suggestions? Will the “antenna trigger” wire serve the same purpose?

  5. Francisco, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1998 Ford Explorer may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. We currently do not have any information on the 1998 Ford Explorer amplifier turn-on wire but hopefully someone from our Modified Life community would be able to chime in and help you out.
