I just installed a pioneer stereo in my 98 acura cl, because I wanted to play music threw my iphone. Well I hook it all up correctly, the stereo turns on and says it is playing music, but no sound is coming threw the speakers at all. I re-connected all wires and made sure it all was correct. I been reading online that if you have the bose speakers then you will run into some problems when installing an aftermarket radio. I am a complete novice, and need help. What do I have to do to get my stereo playing music? can anyone help?

  2. Just a random comment. When someone mentions check ‘all’ of your fuses, this means under the hood too. My 98 CL kept blew a fuse with a generic cigarette lighter charger. All my interior fuses where fine. I did not know to also check my under the hood fuses. If you pop your hood, look to the back left. There are more fuses there. This is the radio fuse that kept burning up.

I just installed a 1998 Acura CL BOSE Radio CD player in my 1998 Acura CL, the old radio was not a BOSE. I just plugged in the harness and the radio is not bolted back in. The player works but the volume will not go very high. Is there something wrong with BOSE player or is there something I must do to be able to be able to increase the volume. anyone?

  4. 98 acura 2.3 CL. the radio needed to be replaced. got one at a decent price from a junk yard. I replaced the radio, works fine. however, I cant control the volume and track/station change from the steering wheel anymore. any guidance you can provide will be much appreciated. I’ve been told that the controls are wireless and I need to sync the two. not sure how I should go about doing that.

  5. Jo, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If ALL of your fuses are good, you will have to get to the back of the car stereo to check if the factory stereo wire harness is plugged in. You can do this by disassembling the dash. Pop the panel surrounding your car stereo and unscrew the mounting bracket holding the radio to the dash. Pull out the radio and check that the car stereo wire harness is plugged into the rear of the car stereo. If the radio wire harness is plugged in then you may have a problem with something else. At this point, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1998 Acura CL radio troubleshooting.

  6. Hi, I have an 1998 Acura 3.0 CL. It’s used and the previous owners claim that when they installed the new battery the radio was disconnected. But, I have found no evidence of wiring near the battery and can’t figure out how to reconnect the radio. How do I do this? Where do I find the wires? How do I connect said wires?

  7. hey there, so i went to a way for 5 weeks and my battery died and when that happens the radio stops working and you have to put in a code. i though i memorized it but failed to input the right code and now that i have the right code to input i cant. on the radio display it says err-3 how can i fix this. thanks

  8. Chuck, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1998 Acura CL stereo may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem or replace your radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1998 Acura CL radio troubleshooting.

  9. I have a 1998 Acura 2.3CL with the stock anti theft radio. The radio doesn’t turn on at all, and I’ve tried connecting and disconnecting the battery , thinking the radio was locked out, but it still wont turn on, which would allow me to put in my radio code . I checked all the fuses as well, and the fuses seem perfectly fine. What can be the issue to this?

  10. Adam, your 1997 Acura CL may have a factory subwoofer amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 1997 Acura CL stereo installation.

  11. Hi, When I wired everything up in my 1997 CL 3.0, my head unit seemed to have worked considering I have power to it. However, no sound will come out of the speakers. When I put the factory radio back in everything worked fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  12. Hello I have a 98 Acura 2.3 cl and the Bose radio will only go from silent to one volume setting no matter how much I turn the nob. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated!

  13. Piotr, it sounds like your 1998 Acura CL factory amplifier needs to be turned on by your radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier otherwise you will not get any audio. We suggest you use a 1998 Acura CL stereo wire harness instead of a 1995 Honda Accord radio wire harness. The 1998 Acura CL wire harness will have the factory amp turn on wire while the 1995 Honda Accord harness will not. Good luck with your 1998 Acura CL radio installation.

  14. hello i have a 98 acura cl, took the stock stereo, and putting in a alpine headunit, i took my old harness from my 95 honda accord and it fit to the acura then i jjust plugged in the alpine and i turned the ky and there was no sound everything else works on the cd player, but i cant figure out why there is no sound, i triple checked all the speaker connections, remote wires but found nothing wrong, if any body can help please need some advice

  15. Nguyen, if you have checked ALL your fuses and ALL your fuses are good then it sounds like your radio is faulty. Our advice is to replace your radio with an aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your radio replacement.

  16. I have 1998 Acura 3.0 CL, the car audio system has been out, I checked the fuses panel including the charger, they were fine. My car radio is the Bose system. So, could you give me any ideas in order to find out what is wrong with that. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely Yours, Chau C Nguyen

  17. Marcus, first thing you should do is double check ALL your fuses and you might have a blown fuse somewhere. Second, make sure your car charger is a brand name phone charger. Sometimes, cheaply made or fake phone chargers draw more power from your cigarette lighter than it should and may cause problems for other components in your car. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  18. I have a 98 Acura CL. I put a car charger in the lighter to charge my phone like usual. This time when I put it in it shut down my audio system. Everything else works fine on the panel, but my audio system screen is blank. It is like it locked me out. Do you have any suggestions to get it working again?
