  1. Well, I figured it out. The installer had done a pretty good job re-wrapping the harness, but it was not a factory install. I removed the alarm completely, reconnected the original wires and my troubles are now gone. Thank you very much, Lee Schneider

  2. I have a ’91 Tercel that apparently came with a Clifford TouchPoint 3 point Auto Immobilizer factory installed (FDC4688R8GA). The wiring harness to the alarm control module looks to be an integral part of the Toyota factory harness and the alarm control module is soldered directly to the wiring harness with no connector used. The only connector is for 4 thin wires, one pair that goes to the flashing light on top of the steering column and another pair that goes to the little “button” under the steering column that is used to turn the alarm off prior to staring the car. I am suspicious that the alarm module is intermittently killing the engine and preventing it from starting. I would like to remove/disable the entire alarm system but have been unable to locate any useful information for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lee Schneider
