Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers are an all new adjustable coilover suspension that features a wide array of all new circuit developed technology that has not been available until now. The Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilover system advances the technologies and greatest strengths of previous high performance Tanabe suspensions like the RR & DD even further. While similar in appearance, the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilover system is completely different from any suspension currently available. The difference lies within the suspension itself and its highly unique internal construction and slide valve technology.
The new slide valve technology of the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers allows a great range of adjustability and function from both sides of the performance spectrum (comfort to pure competitive motorsports use). When used with the new TEAS electronic active suspension controller, the wide range of dampening force is accessible through the touch of a button, and is fully programmable to automatically adjust dampening rates according to the speed you drive. In addition to TEAS, Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers are also available as a special “Hard Driving” version, for strictly motorsports use.
Both case length, and preload are adjustable on the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers. Preload can be adjusted for special settings, while full suspension stroke can be retained or altered with the case length settings. An extreme range of height settings are available with this suspension to suit any driver’s needs or preferences for height and weight distribution. Dampening may be changed in 12 or 16 (with TEAS) settings across a wide range of actual dampening force.
The Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers feature ultra heavy duty construction. The front suspension of a race vehicle experiences the most abuse, therefore a special dual plate stamped steel bracket is used. This bracket is extremely rugged and resists damage where most suspensions fall short. The rear suspension features a high tensile CNC forged aluminum knuckle that is both lightweight and rigid. The ruggedness of the bracketry on this suspension exceeds even OEM vehicle standards. Constructed of forged aluminum, longevity and superior strength is ensured. Additionally, the threaded portion of the casing is chemically treated to resist rust and corrosion.
The oversized Shock Piston of the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers are fully reinforced to resist flexing or snapping. The internal valving of the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers are also fully reinforced for the increased and rapidly changing loads experienced during drifting. The internals resist oil and gas ‘foaming’ and overheating of the internal components which can detract from performance when driving under extreme conditions for extended amounts of time.
Solid mounting pillow ball or rubber upper mounts are included on the front and rear of the Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven coilovers. These upper mounts also have the added benefit of having front adjustable camber plates for fixing or modifying camber settings beyond factory limitations. Solid pillow ball upper mounts prevent suspension geometry changes under various suspension loads.
