Logan, technically you could connect your amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your is on and off whenever your car is off. Just make sure to run an in-line 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amp install.

Justin, most late model vehicles do not have rca outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need: Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, use the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. For the amp trigger wire, please refer to: 1987 Ford Ranger Car Stereo Wiring Chart If you've never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer.
