How to Change Air Filter on 1994 Honda Accord (4-Cylinder)

Replacing your air filter is vital in keeping your 1994 Honda Accord (4-Cylinder) running clean and strong. Changing your air filter allows your engine breathe debris free air which will produces more efficient combustion. Better combustion allows for increased fuel mileage and better engine performance. Make sure you replace your air filter once a year or every 15,000 miles (whichever comes first).

1994 Honda Accord Air Filter (4-Cylinder)

Step 1

Unlatch your 1994 Honda Accord hood by pulling the hood latch located under the driver side of the dash. Prop your hood up and locate the air cleaner housing at the front passenger side of the engine. The air cleaner housing should be located right next to the battery.

Step 2

Locate the four bolts located on the edge of the air cleaner housing. Use your 3/8″ ratchet, 3/8″ extension and 10mm socket to remove these four bolts. Lift up the air cleaner housing cover to reveal the air filter.

Step 3

Remove the air filter by lifting it out of the air cleaner housing and discard the old air filter. Install the new air filter by placing it in the bottom of the air cleaner housing. Make sure it is seated correctly in the air cleaner housing otherwise the air cleaner housing cover won’t close properly.

Step 4

Re-install the air cleaner housing cover. Using your 3/8″ ratchet, 3/8″ extension and 10mm socket, tighten the bolts until snug. Do not over-tighten these bolts or you will strip the threads and will not be able to remove the bolts in the future.
