I have a Sirius/XM vehicle kit I am trying to install in my 2006 Jeep Commander. In order to connect to audio, I need to be able to plug into an auxiliary input. anyone know where that is?
Prince, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2006 Jeep Commander stereo may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced car audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2006 Jeep Commander radio troubleshooting.
im not getting any power to my radio checked all fuses none were blown help.
I just installed an aftermarket head unit and am unable to get anything from the speaker in the doors and rear of the vehicle. I suspect the amp may be gone, but am not certain this is the case. Can anyone tell me which fuse I need to check and it’s location? Don’t have my manual as it was stolen a ways back. I have an 2006 Jeep Commander. I took the vehicle to an audio outfit and personally heard the speakers work when they swapped out a unit and tested it, so I suspect a fuse is the culprit. Also have water issues like every other Commander owner and am thinking the internal fuse box has had water. Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Bryan.
Anthony, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2006 Jeep Commander may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2006 Jeep Commander amp turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2006 Jeep Commander stereo installation.
i have a 2006 jeep commander and i’m having the same problem i have everything installed and the radio worsk and everything but i’m getting no sound please help.
Osahen, run a primary wire from the back of your radio to your steering column and use the purple/brown wire in the ignition switch harness. This purple/brown wire will provide a switched power source for your aftermarket amplifier in your 2006 Jeep Commander. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2006 Jeep Commander amplifier installation.
2006 Jeep Commander : I don’t know what to do when it comes to ”Radio Ignition Switched 12V+ Wire: (CAN data bus)”? can someone please tell me where i should make the remote connection?
I have a 2006 limited jeep commander. Was wondering if anyone knows how I can retain the back up sensors that shut the radio off and allows me to hear the backup alarm and i kinda already know about the steering wheel controls and that mess. I would also like to know if i could retain the function where you pull your keys from the ignition and the radio plays until you open the door. these are some nice features that i would like to keep when installing my new system. have very little money for the can buss feature and am willing to figure that one out later for steering wheel controls. help anyone?
