I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza and I have installed a pioneer stereo headunit. Now the am & fm radio reception is very poor. There is a blue wire coming from the back of the new headunit with “antenna power wire” written on it, which does not connect into the wiring harness conversion kit. As the subaru has an antenna amplifer i expect that this blue wire should be connected to something. Can you please tell me where to connect this blue wire so that our radio reception improves.
Garry, technically you could connect your 2005 Subaru Impreza antenna power wire to the stereo switched 12v+ wire. That way your power antenna is on whenever your 2005 Subaru Impreza is on and off whenever your 2005 Subaru Impreza is off. Be sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the antenna power wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Subaru Impreza antenna power wire install.
