i have 1999 accord and it comes with some kind of subwoofer on the back parcel shelf??? i have found a feed for the amp and powered that but were can i find the feeds for the sub woofer
Hadrian,
We are not aware of any factory subwoofer that comes with the 1999 Honda Accord. As far as we know the rear deck only houses two factory speakers. Hope this helps.. good luck.
What is the red wire for? Looking for the remote wire and red wire seems to be the only one left.
Quan Lin, technically you could connect your amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever the car is on and off whenever your car is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
My car battery keeps dying every morning. My friend and I have been testing this for the past week and can’t seem to find an answer. Battery was tested at autozone to to be good, and the amps don’t seem to be the problem either. I was wondering what was causing my battery to die out every morning. Amps turn off when car turns off, everything works fine. The only problem that I may suspect is the wiring on the stereo. I found the amplifier remote wire on my headunit and just used that. Do you know what the red wire is for? That’s the only wire not used by my headunit and the diagram above doesn’t seem to have what the red color wire is.
have alpine in 99 accord and the rear speakers stopped working. I swapped with a kenwood out of my truck and same thing, no rear speakers. Alpine works fine in truck. What could it be. I have a hard time believing both speakers stopped at the same time. System has been in the car for over 5 years with no problem.
Tim, if your radio works just fine in a different vehicle then your factory or after market amplifier may be faulty. We suggest you replace the factory or aftermarket amplifier. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1999 Honda Accord amp troubleshooting.
I installed an aftermarket head unit in my 99 Accord coupe several weeks ago and had both an illumination wire and dimmer wire coming from the factory harness. I decided (dumb mistake) to connect both wires to my head unit’s illumination wire without checking switched voltage. Now none of the lights on my dash work (instrument panel, a/c control etc). No blown fuses and both of the illum wires show 12v with the lights on. Any ideas? I am stumped.
Hi There! I’ve got a 99 Accord with a CD player AND a cassette player (the cassette player is in the compartment underneath the stereo, above a storage compartment and 12V electrical plug-in. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to take out the cassette player and install an auxiliary audio cable for my iPod in its’ place. I’m not too great with cars, but I’m pretty good with technology and following directions. Also, my CD player keeps giving me error messages – would it be smart just to get a new stereo even though this one has the built-in security system? Thanks, Evan.
Evan, a bluetooth transmitter will allow you to connect any bluetooth device to your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:
Bluetooth Transmitter for 1999 Honda Accord
If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1999 Honda Accord bluetooth transmitter installation.
Does that transmit to the stereo via FM channel or is that linked in directly to the car stereo? Thanks.
Evan, that auxiliary input adapter does run on FM frequency but not through the air. It provides an audio signal directly to the back radio through the antenna plug so there is no interference. This interface is specific to your 1999 Honda Accord.

Benjamin, we are happy we could help you with your 1999 Honda Accord stereo wiring diagram needs.

To install 6 1/2″ speakers in the 99 honda accord front doors do I have to take the door panels off?
Ryan, yes you will have to remove the door panels in your 1999 Honda Accord. Most door panel removals can be done with a Phillips screwdriver and door trim removal tools. Just look for screws at the edge of the door panel, near the door handle or inside the door pull. Once you remove all the screws or plastic tabs, you should be able to use the door trim removal tools to pull the door panel off with ease. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1999 Honda Accord door panel removal and speaker installation.
I’ve purchased a 99 Honda accord and the back speakers are not working. I’ve replaced the stereo with a factory Honda stereo. They are still not working. No power to the back speakers. Is there a stereo amp? If so, where is it located?
