Sara, it sounds like you may have blown out some fuses. Double check ALL your vehicle fuses and you will probably find some blown fuses somewhere. Sometimes when you short out your radio fuse, other fuses may also blow out. If all your vehicle fuses are in working condition then double check your ground wire and make sure it is grounded well or use the chassis to ground the car stereo. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1997 Toyota Corolla stereo troubleshooting.

I lost power to my aftermarket pioneer radio/cd while driving on the freeway. My cigarette lighter/phone charger works but NO POWER to the radio. My husband swapped the working fuse with the "supposed" non working fuse. Still no power to the radio! Help! I have a library CD stuck in my cd player!!

Adriana, it sounds like you may have blown out a fuse or two. Double check ALL your fuses and you will probably find a blown fuse somewhere. Sometimes when you short out your radio fuse, other fuses may also blow out. If all your fuses are good then double check your ground wire and make sure it is grounded well or use the chassis to ground the radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Toyota Corolla radio troubleshooting.

My stereo on my 1997 toyota corolla isn't working and I'm pretty sure its just a blown fuse as this happened two years ago with it and now its doing the same thing. Ive pulled out the deck but there is no obvious fuse on the back. I checked the fuse box underneath the hood but have NO IDEA which fuse is for what part of the car. Help please!

Adrian, as far as we know, the radio and cigarette lighter work usually work on the same wiring. That is the reason why if the radio goes out, the cigarette lighter usually goes out. It is unlikely for your 2005 Toyota Corolla to not have any blow fuses if you have a short. The function of a fuse is to prevent damage to your vehicle in case of a short by blowing out. Double check ALL your fuses including the interior fuses and fuses under the hood. Use a fuse tester or pull each and every fuse out and physically inspect them. Most likely you will find a blown fuse somewhere. Hope this helps. Good luck with your troubleshooting.

I think I created a short in the wiring in my dash somewhere. I'm not sure though? All my fuses have been checked and they are working. The problem started when I was driving and I had my cellphone charger plugged in and. I think I pressed down to hard when i was driving because then my radio went out and none of the two cigarette charges work. BUT all my dash lights work. And the AC dials light up. The only things out and not working are the two cigarette outlets and the radio. Is there a device I can use to test if the wires are shorted like how there is one to test if a fuse is working or not? Any advice?

Sharon, it sounds like a fuse problem. Check every single interior and under-hood fuses by pulling them or using a tester. As a last resort, you can always run a new power wire to radio if you know the radio does function properly. Hope this helps.

I need help. I had to take out my radio on my toyota corolla because my son put pennies in the cd player, this blew out fuses on my dash for cig. lighter, overhead light, radio, etc. I removed pennies, replaced fuses. everythin is working except radio... there is no power going to radio.. I checked with volt meter. Is there a hidden fuse or switch that i am missing?
