  1. Daniel, technically you could connect your 2005 Nissan Altima amp turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amp is on whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is on and off whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amp turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amp install.

  2. What is the best way to connect the remote wire from my amp to my 2005 Nissan Altima stock radio. Amp is only running 300w, 150w to one pioneer 6×9 and 150w to the other 6×9. Thanks.

  3. Ashley, the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S parking brake wire is located at the base of the emergency brake. Simply remove your center console and the wire should be located at the base of the e-brake handle. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S dvd installation.

  4. Hi, I have a 2002 nissan altima 2.5s and I just bought a Pioneer AVH1400BH stereo for it. I did all of the install except connecting the parking brake wire because I can’t seem to figure out which wire it is and where it’s located. Because I can’t, I’m not able to use the DVD player at all.. HELP! Haha thanks!

  5. Joseph, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If ALL of your fuses are good, make sure your antenna plug in tightly plugged into the radio and the antenna power wire is spliced correctly. If you still can not get your antenna turn on, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio troubleshooting.

  6. I put a Kenwood dpx308u in my 2005 nissan altima and I can’t get the radio stations to pick up. I tried hooking the ant cont wire to the factory power antenna wire and it didn’t change anything. What do I need to do?

  7. Moe, here are the components you need to install an aftermarket single DIN stereo in your 2005 Nissan Altima:

Single DIN Dash Kit for 2005 Nissan Altima
Radio Wire Harness for 2005 Nissan Altima

You will need some aftermarket electronics to hook up a subwoofer to your 2005 Nissan Altima factory stereo. You will need five components:

    1. Car Subwoofer
    2. Car Subwoofer Box to house your car subwoofer.
    3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
    4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
    5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.

First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.

  10. Pat, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. 11. i have a 2006 Nissan altima and i was wiring for sub woofers, i had the RCA converter so i can use the stock head unit, using the wiring identification above i hooked it up, all worked good, then the radio wouldn’t turn off when the key was off, then wires or converter sparked and the radio shut off, now the radio doesn’t work at all and neither does the dash lights, what could the problem be? blown fuse?

  12. Isaiah, the difference in impedance (ohm rating) can cause your volume to output a higher or lower levels. You will have to remove your audio 2 ohm speakers and replace them with 4 ohm speakers to match your aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.

  13. So the factory speaker are rated at 2 ohm and aftermarket head unit want 4 ohm. Is it still safe to run the aftermarket stereo at factory speaker?

  14. Erik, we suggest you wait for the head unit to arrive. There is a good chance the larger load will damage the factory radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.

  15. Excellent thread, it’s a lot of help. I have an ’05 Altima. I read that the system is wired at 2 ohms. I ordered a head unit online and purchased front and rear speakers locally. 16. Shane, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2005 Nissan Altima factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. 32. Sega, your 2005 Nissan Altima may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier so that your CD or iPod audio output can be heard. 36. :O ok thank u ill try that to see if it works but u did not say anything about the beebing sound it makes when the ignition is turned on

  37. Lil T, the reason your in dash DVD player is playing so low could be because the factory Infinity audio system is running on a different impedance (ohm rating). After market stereo head units output audio at 4 ohms while Infinity audio system output audio at 2 ohms. The difference in impedance (ohm rating) can cause your volume to output a higher or lower levels. You may have to remove your Infinity audio 2 ohm speakers and replace them with 4 ohm speakers to match your aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Altima stereo installation.

The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 2005 Nissan Altima is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio installation.

Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.
