Hi guys, I have a 03 accord with navigation. I was wondering if anyone happen to know which wire from the navigation is going to front left and right speakers for route guidance voice. thanks

John, most late model cars use the front door speakers to power the tweeters. We have found that the flip over wire snaps sometimes don’t offer a solid connection. We suggest you splice, twist, solder and electrical tape your connections. Hope this helps. Good luck with your radio installation.

I will be doing a aftermarket radio install in my 07 Honda accord lx (sony mex-bt2700) next weekend. I have not taken any of the dash apart yet or seen what the wiring harness looks like yet. I am aware not to unplug the harness from the original stock stereo and splicing will be involved. My question is your wiring diagram does not show instructions for the tweeters. will these wires be integrated into the front speaker wires or will there be seperate wires for the tweeters that are not listed. also when connecting wires can I use the plastic flip over wire snaps? (these are the blue plastic square shaped pieces of plastic with small pieces of connecting metal inside. You place two wires side by side inside of them and when you fold the plastic top cover over them and snap it tight it makes a connection between the two wires.) Are these acceptable to make a good enough connection? Or should I splice twist and electrical tape them. I am not running an amp or sub if this makes any difference…………..Thanks for any helpful info into this matter….John

I have a 2003 Honda Accord EXL-V6, w/o navigation and a cassette player. I would like XM satalitte radio capabilities, but don’t want an aftermarket stereo. I found a 2006 Accord stereo with XM, available at an auto scrap yard for a good price. Are the wire harnesses different on these vehicles? I know Honda didn’t offer XM until 2004. Any insight is appreciated.

Bryan, most car radios do have built-in amplifiers. Unless it is known that your Honda Accord has an external amplifier, most likely the radio amplifier is built into your car stereo. Usually a “pop” sound does mean something has burned out or gone out. We would suggest you get your car radio checked out by the dealer or an experienced radio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 2003 accord EX coupe dual climate control without navigation. I turned the stock radio on the other day and a “pop” noise came out of the speakers. Since then no sound comes out of any of the speakers. All buttons, display, cd player, etc. work great. I have tested all speakers in another car and they work fine. I’ve asked around about this problem and have been told the built in amp is probably blown. I’ve also been told there is no amp in this radio.

Is there a built in amp in the stock radio? If that is the problem, is there a way for it to be fixed? Could this be a precursor to the “black screen”?

Mohammed, in terms of problems you’re experiencing, it sounds like you may have some wires crossed. Our advice is to double check all your connections and run your remote off your 12 volt switched wire instead of a fuse. Just remember to use an inline 1-amp fuse on your remote turn on wire. I’ve got an 03 Accord LX 2.4L with about 140k miles. I’ve got amp installed on the stock radio that runs off the rear speakers. All I needed was a Hi/Lo converter which was around $25-30, and the remote was running off fuse# 5 from the interior, later I’ve moved it to fuse#20. #20 is for the winshield washer, which only turns on after the vehicle is fully cranked. I’ve done this because I didn’t want to end up with a low powered battery. I’ve also changed my alternator to a high performance 180amp output. It requires me to have an additional B+ running from the alternator to the battery via inline fused wire. I’ve also replace all of my speakers. I’ve got Kicker 6×9 3way on the rear with 100watts rms, and Pionner 6.5″ 4way with 60watts rms on the front doors. It works fine…. about 9 months ago I realized my radio dimmer stopped working. When the headlights are turned on the backlights for the instrument panel and the odotomenter turns on. But when the odometer is manually dimmed the radio does not dim. How can I solve this problem?

i have a 2003 accord and am trying to hook an amp and subs up and i was wondering what exactly i need to do the job( hooking the amp up to the stock radio), and directions would help me so much. thank you in advance
