hey whenever i took out my factory stereo the dashboard lights went out, like the lights that light up how fast im going and the rpms, is that because of the stereo or what plz help
Check your interior fuses. It sounds like you have a blown fuse.
As in another comment, when I took out another aftermarket deck to put in another one, the dash lights went out (gauges etc), you said it could be fuses, but I’ve checked the fuses, I was wondering if you could be a bit more specific.
Also do you think I could have blown out the actual bulb while wiring wrong?
Zachary,
Here is a list of things for you to check:
1. Make sure your dimmer wire is wired up from your after market radio to your factory wires.
2. Confirm that your fuses are not blown. Please note that there are separate fuses for the dash lights (check under the hood and the fuse panel on the passenger side).
3. If you have checked all your fuses, make sure your hazard switch is plugged in (the hazard plug has wires that may affect your interior lighting).
4. If you hazard switch is plugged in, make sure your dimmer brightness switch is not turned down (dimmer brightness control is one of the small adjustable knobs on the gauge cluster).
Hope this helps. Good luck.
