  1. clicking on the 2005 Pontiac G6 link gives me the info for a 2006 model. Are they the same? If not, please send me the correct info. You’ll probably want to fix your link. Thanks for a great website and service info!!! Mark

  2. about adding that line output converter to the 2005 g6…. im trying to figure out where im going wrong on this lil project and appreciate any “sound” help or advice i can get lol so im wanting to come off the factory amp so id find the speaker wires coming outta the factory amp in the trunk and id just connect splice into the wires there, does it have to b soldered or will twisting together and black tape work…. the left to the left and the right to the right with corresponding polarity and such….? i think i may have my problem almost figured out but the amp im installing all this for has a power light and a protection light which both light up when i put power to em… any ideas bout what that could be about. anyone? lol

  3. Justin, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter

When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you install a line out converter, your rear speakers will still work properly. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Pontiac G6 amplifier installation.

  4. I’m installing an aftermarket indash radio pioneer Avic-7115bt in an 06 g6 4 door. i have heard that if you get rid of the factory radio the car would not run right…. is this true… also what kits or harness should i get to make the install easier?

  5. Jeff, an automotive auxiliary input adapter will allow you to input any mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the adapter you will need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2006 Pontiac G6 aux input adapter installation.

  6. Since there is no deck able to keep the info center is there a way to hook a iPod or iPhone up to the stock stereo?

  7. Jason, unfortunately we don’t know of any manufacturer that makes an after market head unit that can still display all the factory menu options. You would have to source a replacement unit from the Pontiac dealer or local junk yard. Hope this helps. Good luck with fixing your 2006 Pontiac G6.

  8. Is there an aftermarket head unit I can install in a 2006 Pontiac G6 that will still display all of the car info like MPG and Oil Life? The 6-disc changer in my wife’s G6 stopped working and it’s going to cost hundreds to get fixed. I would like to just put a nicer head unit in, but she won’t like not being able to get that information.
