Taylor, technically you could connect your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta is on and off whenever your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta amplifier install.
Hey what is the best place to run the remote wire from on a stock monsoon system to an extra amp for my subs?
Sam, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta factory radio may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Volkswagen Jetta radio troubleshooting.
The Monsoon stereo system in my 2005 VW Jetta GLI won’t even turn on after I had my battery replaced a few weeks ago. There isn’t even a prompt on the display asking me to enter system code. And it doesn’t appear to be a fuse related issue. Any advice? Possible reasons why it won’t turn on now? Thanks!
Josh, the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta factory radio is not able to read a mp3 CD. You will need to purchase an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any Apple iPod, mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the adapter you will need:

My girlfriend has an 05 jetta, stock radio. Is that capable of playing an mp3 cd?
2005 VW Jetta GLI with Premium Monsoon sound system. I had the windshield replaced on Tuesday. Now I have NO DISPLAY on my radio. The Radio and all systems work :CD, tape ect, just no display.
Is there a seperate fuse for the display or is this something more serious?
