I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna and am wondering if it is relatively easy to install an “audio in” plug for an MP3 player (newer models have this)?
George, we suggest you get a Apple iPod Integration Kit for your 2005 Toyota Sienna. Here is the Apple iPod Adapter Interface you need:

If you have never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE and want to connect the audio output of my after market
DVD player (installed in the driver and passenger seat head rests) to the factory fitted speaker
system?
Or would it be easier to install an audio in plug to the factory fitted music system?
Pankaj, we suggest you feed the audio from your aftermarket DVD player to your factory radio wirelessly using a Bluetooth FM Transmitter. Here is the Bluetooth FM Transmitter you need:

We just purchased a 2005 Toyota Sienna from an Acura dealer ( go figure ).
They are replacing the CD changer as it is faulty.
The DVD player works ONLY with headphones and not through the cars speakers.
Whats the best way to get around this bar buying 3 wireless headsets for my small children? OUCH!!!!!!!
A. Simmons, most dvd players have a radio frequency (RF) signal transmitter that feeds the radio with an audio signal from the dvd that is playing. It sounds like the RF transmitter is faulty. Ask the Acura dealer to replace the signal transmitter or the entire unit if the RF transmitter cannot be replaced. It should be covered under the used car warranty since you just purchased the vehicle. Good luck. Hope this helps.
I have a similar situation, but wanted to confirm. I have a 2005 XLE Ltd AWD Sienna with the Toyota Navigation and DVD rear seat entertainment system. Everything is stock and came with the vehicle when we bought it new. I’m also interested in getting an AUX-IN for a 2nd generation iTouch and an iPhone 3G (not a 3GS). Controlling the iTouch and iPhone from the navigation screen would be nice as well as charging. Questions:
–It looks like the GROM unit you recommended above does not charge an iPhone 3G, is that true? Can you still control the basic iPod features on the Toyota stock navigation screen? Do you have screenshots of what the iPod controls look like on the navigation screen? How do you access the iPod from the navigation screen?
–I assume that if a new iPhone comes out in the summer of 2010, any adapter would not work?
I’m finding conflicting stories online about whether there are workable unit for a 2005 Sienna like mine so any confirmation would help tremendously.
Thank you so much,
–Mark P
Hello, I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE with a factory Navigation System/ single CD unit/ and a factory DVD system. If I purchase the Auxiliary Input Adapter for my vehicle, once it is hooked up, will all of my original electronics also still work: Navigation/CD/DVD? And what about if I upgraded to the GROM-IPOD V2 cable to have full function of my iPod thru the car steering wheel/etc? Would all of my other electronics still work then? Lastly, I have a 4th Gen iPod Nano….. just wanted to make sure that this would also work for either of these units? THANK YOU so much for your help… I just want to make sure that everything works with my vehicle and iPod before making this purchase! ANY suggestions for exactly WHAT to buy (cheapest/easiest) and HOW to hook these up would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Jill, the GROM iPod Interface will give you full iPod functionality while keeping your 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE factory electronics working. The GROM iPod Interface is also compatible with the 4th generation and newer iPods and compatible with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th generation iPod Nanos but NOT the 4th generation iPod Nano. We suggest you take a look at the USA Spec iPod Interface. This particular iPod interface allows full iPod functionality while keeping all factory CD, in-dash CD changer, XM radio and satellite functioning. Even better the USA Spec iPod Interface is compatible with all iPods (including all iPod Nanos) and comes with a plug and play harness for easier installation. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Toyota Sienna iPod interface installation.
I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna. My radio frequency randomly changes itself. eg. I’m listening to 98.5 and it will usually switch to either 98.3 or 98.7 though it has made bigger jumps. I’ve tried to figure out if it’s connected to anything specific going on in the vehicle at the time such as steering wheel turning, cruise turned on, bumps in the road, etc, etc. There just doesn’t seem to be any sort of connection. It does the switching on both am and fm. I’ve looked on different forums and just can’t find anything except people saying “take it to the dealer” or “are you pushing the buttons on the steering wheel by accident?” (which I have not by the way!! though the buttons are there, they have not been pushed!!) Any suggestions? After 6 years we’re not covered by warranty anymore and would love to be able to repair it ourselves.
Stereo is working, but no sound coming out of the speaker on my 2005 Toyota Sienna XlE
Dona, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2005 Toyota Sienna factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Toyota Sienna radio troubleshooting.
