  2. I have a 2005 Ford focus i recently replaced the stock radio with a Kenwood KDC-205. The original connector was cut off so i wired it using the schematics found here along with schematics from kenwood. The radio works great but when i turn off the car and pull the key out. The door chimes and the headlights are always on. So what did i wire wrong? Anyone? Any help would appreciated Thanks

  3. Carl, yes it is possible to get your steering wheel controls to work but it depends on the manufacturer of your aftermarket radio. You will need a steering wheel control adapter to keep your factory steering wheel controls:

Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Alpine Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Blaupunkt Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Clarion Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Eclipse Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for JVC Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Kenwood Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Pioneer Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Sony Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Valor Radio

If you have never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Ford Focus stereo installation.

  4. Wanting to install a aftermarket radio that can still be controlled by the steering wheel controls. Ive been told some wireless remote control radios will work some want. Has anyone run into this if so let me know? liked the 5 disc in dash but it just wont work anymore.

Here’s what I used, and it seems to work.

From top left to lower right:
    RF- RF+ RR+ LR+ LF+ ATO X PA X Dim 12V Batt
    X X RR- LR- LF- X X X X X X GND

    Key:
    RF – Right Front
    RR – Right Rear
    LR – Left Rear
    LF – Left Front
    ATO – Amp Turn On
    PA – Power Antenna
    Dim – Dimmer
    12 V – 12 Volt Ignition/Acc
    Batt – 12 Volt Battery/Memory
    GND – Ground
X – Blank, no wire (although there may be a wire on the stereo harness you’re plugging into.)

  6. THANK YOU !! you really helped me without this i wouldnt be able to install my stereo only i had a little problem i could find the cable for the starting switch or something like that so when i turn on my car i need to turn on the stereo manually but everything else was kind of easy thankyou!

  7. Tyler, technically you could connect your 2005 Ford Focus amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2005 Ford Focus is on and off whenever your 2005 Ford Focus is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
