Brian, its sounds like your radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Pontiac dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your radio.

purchased a 2004 pontiac sunfire. found out it has a 2001 chevy cavalier radio. Any way to make this work. the radio is locked

Dwaine, run a wire to the steering column and use the brown wire in the ignition switch harness. This will provide a switched power source for your radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier radio installation.

My daughter has a 2003 Cavalier. Her radio died so I was replacing with a none standard model. The new cd/radio requires a switch 12+ wire which I discovered is not included in the 2003 Cavalier radio wiring harness. I was told to run a wire to the fuse box but am not sure where I should hook it in on the fuse box? Any help would be most appreciated. I think others have ran into the same issue

My son had to replace his 2004 Pontiac Sunfire battery and now radio is “locked.” Stealer (Dealer) wants $100 to “unlock” it. Seems like a ripoff to me. Is there any way for owner to do this? This is NOT a stolen radio or car! He just got married, started a new job, and can’t afford the $100 charge right now. Thanks in advance

Broch, it sounds like you don’t have your amplifier turn on wire hooked up correctly. Connect your 2007 Pontiac G5 amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2007 Pontiac G5 is on and off whenever your 2007 Pontiac G5 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Maggie, your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 04 sunfire, theres power to the cd deck but theres no sound coming out. we went back and checked all wires and fuses and everything is good.. any Ideas???

Roger, double check ALL your fuses and you will probably find a blown fuse somewhere. Sometimes when you short out your radio fuse, other fuses may also blow out. Hope this helps. Good luck.
