Kris, you may want to check what impedence (ohm rating) your 2004 Chevrolet Impala amplifier is outputting. For example, if you use a 4 ohm speaker with a 2 ohm amplifier, the level of your audio output is affected. Our advice would be to match your new speakers with an aftermarket amplifier and install it bypassing your factory amp. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Chevrolet Impala audio output troubleshooting.

recently added a new 7″ touchscreen DVD/GPS headunit to my 2004 chevrolet Impala. The OEM unit had 2 plugs on the back. Had the 24pin which I accounted for in my installation by getting the Scosche GM09SR Wire Adapter. However there was also a 2 wire plug. What was that for and do I need it? The reason I ask is because I have no sound output. Is that amp related? is there an amp bypass for the 2004 chevy impala? anyone? Thanks!!
