Hi, i want to change the radio in my 2003 Passat. but the radio i put in, does not automatically turn on/off with the key like the original one. is it possible to change it so it turns on/off with the key? thanks, Shane
Shane, it sounds like you haven’t properly wired up your accessory switched power source. The factory stereo wire harness does not provide a accessory switched power source. Run a wire to the fuse box and find a switched power source that turns on and off with your key. Use this wire to turn your radio on and off. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Volkswagen Passat radio installation.

Hey I was looking to install subs and an amp into my car with the stock radio. I have an output adapter for my RCA cables to hook up to the amp, but I’m unsure of how to wire it in. I have located the rear speaker wiring and was wondering if i should disconnect these wires and use those to wire to my output converter, however, I am unsure if this is the correct way to do this. thanks

Does the 2003 volkswagen Passat Wagon GLS V6 have an aux jack?
Adria, your 2003 Volkswagen Passat Wagon does not have an aux input jack. We suggest you purchase an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any Apple iPod, mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo directly rather than over the air. Here is the adapter you will need:
