Thanks for the wiring diagram it worked perfectly! I never could have figured it out with out this website. The Sony CD player I installed used totally different colours than the 2003 Toyota Corolla.

I was just wondering if my factory stero on my 2003 Corolla has RCA plugs?

  • Reply ModifiedLife August 17, 2009 at 10:57 pm

Marc, most late model vehicles do not have rca outputs on the factory radio. You would have to install a line out converter. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck.

im trying to put in a system in my 2011 corolla it has the stock deck and i know i need a line-out converter but i dont know how to install it if any one can help please do

Billy, when splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2011 Toyota Corolla amplifier installation.

I have a 2003 toyota corolla.. i have just the regular stock radio with cd player. I want to connect some wiring (like an adapter interface) in the back to connect it to my iphone. i want it in the back so i can hide the wires but i don’t know if that could be done. i’ve seen the back of the stereo and it has three adapters but only two sets of cables. i’m wondering what the third adapter is for. any suggestions?

Jimmy, we suggest you purchase an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any Apple iPod, mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the adapter you will need:

I just bought a Sony CDX-GT360MP stereo and I’m trying to connect it to my 2003 Toyota Corolla, and I’ve noticed from the diagram that some of the wires won’t be used (the illumination and dimmer wires). So is it okay to have extra unplugged wires?

  • Reply ModifiedLife March 18, 2013 at 11:00 am

Hunter, technically the illumination and dimmer wires don’t have to be connected for your radio to work. The illumination and dimmer wires are used to lower the radio display brightness when you turn on your parking lights at night. Hope this helps. Good luck with 2003 Toyota Corolla stereo installation.
