My 2003 4Runner needs the driver’s side brake light. Can you tell me which light I need and how to do this instead of bringing it to a shop.

    Thank you very much!

Bonnie, if you open your tailgate (trunk) and look at your taillight, you should be able to see a couple of screws that hold your tail light to your 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Remove those screws and your taillight should slide out. After you remove the driver side tail light, you should be able to swap out the dead light bulb. Hope this helps. Good luck with changing the light bulb.

I need to change the stop light bulb in my 2003 Toyota 4Runner. I don’t know how to get to the bulb. It appears that the red plastic cover pops off but I don’t want to put too much pressure in the wrong place and break it. Can you advise me on this? Thanks, Jeff.

Gary, as much as we would like to help you, most of the information listed on our website is provided by our visitors. We only have the light bulb sizes on your 2003 Toyota 4Runner. We don’t have the specific information on how to change light bulbs on your 2003 Toyota 4Runner but hopefully someone from our Modified Life community would be able to chime in.

Once you pull off the heating control/clock console you will see some small gray colored battery looking knobs on the back of the clock. They should have a lengthwise score in them. Use a flat head screwdriver and turn them counter clockwise and then they will just fall right out once you turn the unit over. Then to put the new ones in use the same flat head screwdriver and turn them clockwise using moderate pressure. I know this works because I just did it! The dealer told me that there was a “coil burned out in my console that could not be replaced.” And that I would have to pay $1200 for a whole new console. I then went to the parts department and asked for the bulbs. Just because I’m a girl does not mean I’m stupid!! Hope this helps you.
