I’ve done car stereo install following your guides before and they’ve all turned out great. How ever I just tried on my 2002 corolla s and I heard a click behind the dash, sounded like it was right below where the radio sits. Now I’ve checked all the fuses like 5 times I’m 100% they’re fine, is there another fuse or something sitting behind or around the radio that would cause the clock and radio not to come on? I know that the radio and clock are on the same fuse that’s why I check that first, but the cig lighter is working, and if I remember that’s on that fuse too….So I’m a little confused as to what it could be. Help please, Kris

Kris, check to see if the back of your after market car radio or the switched power line on your aftermarket radio wiring harness has a replaceable fuse. The radio fuse may have blown and needs replacing. Hope this helps. Good luck.

They do and they’re both good, I’ve never had this happen before heh. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to find a way around it. Thank you. Kris

Hi Guys, awesome, thanks – I had a mate wire in my stereo years ago but it would always lose my preset stations when I turned off the ignition. When I rewired it per your instructions above it worked great! Thanks again!

i am having a hard time finding out why the red wire feeding my 2002 toyota corolla radio is not hot when the key is turn on. where is it fused? thanks

Darryl, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Toyota Corolla radio troubleshooting.
