  1. On a early body style 2002 dodge 2500 is there a factory amplifier to the radio and if so is the two wire plug that is white and black and violet and black wires in it the plug for the factory amp? I’m also experiencing the no sound problem and if that is the plug for it , what wire in the aftermarket radio can I splice those wires into? can anyone help?

  2. Having read numerous complaints about the OEM radio on the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab working for 5 seconds and then the sound goes away, it’s obvious to me it’s common problem. Having checked the fuses and radio connections, all appearing ok, can I assume it’s a bad component on a circuit card or is there another explanation? No one has responded back to any of these issues before, now is the time for the REAL Super Tech to save the day! We need your help….

  3. Ross, yes the 2005 Dodge Ram factory amplifier is located behind the glove box. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Dodge Ram stereo installation.

  4. I want to install a new sound system but can not locate the factory amplifier. everyone keeps telling me the amplifier is located behind the glove box. Is there actually an amp behind the 2005 dodge ram glove box? Need response immediately please.

  5. Mike, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 radio troubleshooting.

  6. hello i just bought my 2002 dodge ram 1500 it has the infinity stereo in it the owner said it worked great for him and then just cut off one day. the display on the stereo lights up and everything but there is no sound all it does is ticks from the speakers i checked all the fuses and every one is good, i changed the factory stereo with my alpine deck and still all it does is ticks, i hooked up the remote amp wire like you said in previous tags and still get the ticks. is there anything else i can check or is there a way to bypass the oem amp to get some sound. i think there used to be a Sirius radio in it at one point because there is a antenna on the roof for one, could that be what messed it up when it was removed. thanks

  7. I have a dodge 2500 extended cab and im trying to change out the factory stereo with an in dash cd player. My problem is that there is a single black /blue wire that connects to the back of the stock stereo and when i hooked up the new cd player it wouldn’t turn on. I hooked the stock stereo back up and unless the black/blue wire is hooked up it wont turn on. I was told it was for the factory amp so I bought a bypass harness for it and couldn’t find an amp. everyone I’ve talked to says it behind the glove box but there isn’t anything there or anywhere else that I’ve looked. Im pretty sure that it has an amp but I just can’t figure out anything anywhere to fix this problem.. any ideas??

  8. Jim, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 stereo installation.

  9. I have a 2002 Ram 1500 and all the speakers dont work. The radio works but no sound is coming out of the speakers. Where can I look to fix the problem?

  10. On my Dodge Ram 1500 factory am/fm cassette radio. When I turn on the radio, it only plays for about 30 seconds and then no more sound but the digital time display still works. I checked the 20 amp fuse and it is fine. If someone knows the possible reason, please reply

  11. what are the speaker sizes and shapes for the door and behind the seats of a 2002 dodge ram single cab?

  12. Juan, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 stereo installation.

  13. I bought an after market stereo for my 2001 dodge ram 2500 diesel pick up . I bought adapter scosche wiring harness to make it easier and I have no sound out of my speakers . So I went and exchanged both wiring harness adapter and a new radio still no sound .. Is there something I am missing .

  14. John, you do not need an aftermarket head unit to put a subwoofer in your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output to the after market amplifier powering your subwoofer. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter

When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 amplifier installation.

  15. Tim, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 radio installation.

  16. I have an 03 dodge ram 1500 and every time I turn off the truck and restart it I have to turn the dtock radio on and redo the am/fm settings and the bass/trem/fad/bal settings also there are no radio lights on it at night??? Is there more than one fuse for the radio?? or what might it be?? thanks.

  17. My 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. my stereo for some reason, keep going out, when i turn up the volume. plus only the back speakers will play. I though it may be a short in the speaker, but i pull all the speakers and check them, they all play fine, so i replace my systems. in stall them with factory replacement wiring. now am getting the same problem, the rear speakers are the only ones playing. and if i turn it up, the speakers keep going in and out. my front won’t play at all. can you please help me, and tell me what the problem is?

  18. John, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your factory amplifier or your car stereo audio output may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab radio troubleshooting.

  19. 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. My AM/FM Cassette stereo radio turns on and has volume, left & Right balance and front & rear balance. The problem is none of the other buttons function. Seek, channel selector, preset buttons, clock settings. So I can’t change the channel, select AM or FM either. Is there another fuse for this or is my stock stereo just dead or broken?

  20. When balance and fader buttons are placed in the middle, is it normal that the rear speakers sounds lower then the front ones on my Infinity sound system on my Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2002?

  21. Ray, it would be tough say what is wrong but it sounds like you may have a short in your stereo wiring. Our advice is to have an experienced installer look at your radio wiring and fix the short. Hope this helps. Good luck troubleshooting your radio problem.

  22. My son went thru a wash (full of water) and now the stereo (origianl equipment) will not work. I also notice the seat belt signal stays on even when the seat belt is engaged. The fuses are ok. What could the problem be?

  23. Jorge, it should be turned on when the key is turned all the way back because you will be using the accessory switched wire which is the wire that powers accessories like the radio, etc. The 1 amp fuse on the turn wire is used to protect your factory wiring. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier installation.

  24. Will my amp be turned on if my key switch is turned all the way back on my 2002 dodge ram 1500, and why do i need the 1 amp fuse on the turn on wire to the ampplifier?

  25. Jorge, technically you could connect your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 amplifier turn on wire to the accessory switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 is on and off whenever your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

  26. To witch wire do you connect the blue remote wire from a after market amp on a 2002 Dodge ram 1500. To the red constant battery, red&white accessory switch, or to the yellow antenna trigger wire would really appreciate the help asap? Thanks guys

  27. Look out Tyler. You may have a 2002 RAM 1500, but your stereo is wired as a 2003 one. My P/U was manufactured in 2/02, but already had the 2003 wire colors. Good job, folks, for having this info!

  28. Tyler, as far as we know it would require extensive re-wiring to get the stock steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket radio. If you’re not an expert car audio installer, your best bet is to get an after market radio that comes with steering wheel controls of its own. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  29. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and I wish to replace my stock stereo for an in-dash.. The only problem is I have the steering wheel controls for my stock system and I don’t know how or if its even possible to still use those controls with a non-stock cd player.. Let me know.
