I’m installing a new pioneer deck in my 02 intepid with the permium sound system, I have located the factory amp in the dash. On my harness I have 2 unused wires violet and yellow and green and red, I used the green red as amp trigger wire so i now have sound. but I am left with the violet and yellow wire empty (is this posably a volume controle for the amp?) Although I am recieving sound from the amp at higher volumes it seems choppy or distorted, is this because the amp requires input level insted of speaker level sound? If so I will probley burn out the amp by keeping this format… I had an 95 intrepid, I used the factory wiring just by passed the amp by splicing the wirinig directly to the speakers, I don’t want to have to do this. Plus the amp is in a horrable spot under the dash instead of in the trunk like the 95. Any help would be greatly appeciated or mabey the wire diagram for the permium sound would be worlds of help! I’m not getting any sound from my after market Kenwood radio. I need to know what the 2002 Dodge Intrepid amp Trigger wire is. I looked on here, and it says N/A. Please HELP!!!!!
I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid ES with the Infinity I system. I recently had to replace the stereo receiver, and have connected the harness it came with. The radio works, but there is no sound getting to the speakers. There are two wires left over that I do not know where they go. One is a Purple with Yellow stripe, the other is a Green with a brown stripe. Thank you.
Joe, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and make sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are in working condition, your 2002 Dodge Intrepid may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amp to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2002 Dodge Intrepid amplifier turn on wire is connected.
