Cam, technically you could connect your Chevrolet Monte Carlo amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your Chevrolet Monte Carlo is on and off whenever your Chevrolet Monte Carlo is off. Just make sure to run an in-line 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Guy, make sure the Sony Xplod speakers are the same ohm rating as your stock speakers otherwise they may play at lower volume or higher volume than normal. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I replaced the rear speakers on a 2002 Monte Carlo with Sony Xplod 6×9’s. The rear speaker volume is now less than half that of the original speakers. What might cause this problem?
