  1. My mother just bought a 2002 chevrolet monte carlo. it is not an ss and does not have the high end stereo system, does this make of Chevrolet have a factory amp, because She also has full power to the head unit and no sound whatsoever out of the speakers. I have done many stereo systems in the past and have trouble believing that all four of the factory speakers blew out simultaneously. anyone?

  2. Mike, double check ALL your automotive fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the passenger kick panel, driver side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger side of the dash, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your automotive fuses are not blown, your 2002 Monte Carlo SS factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Monte Carlo SS stereo troubleshooting.

  7. Cam, technically you could connect your Chevrolet Monte Carlo amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your Chevrolet Monte Carlo is on and off whenever your Chevrolet Monte Carlo is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

  8. Guy, make sure the Sony Xplod speakers are the same ohm rating as your stock speakers otherwise they may play at lower volume or higher volume than normal. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  9. I replaced the rear speakers on a 2002 Monte Carlo with Sony Xplod 6×9’s. The rear speaker volume is now less than half that of the original speakers. What might cause this problem?
