  1. I have a 2001 galant. The center speaker that is on the top of the dash in the center is bad. What size is that speaker? Thanks,

  2. I think it is a three and a half inch speaker. I have yet to find one that will sit flush with the dash due to the fact that the magnets are too big causing the speaker to sit too high.

  3. The center speaker in my 2001 galant is blown. How can I order another one? They said I had to order it from the factory but I cannot find it anywhere online. Please help.

  4. Melissa, your best bet is to get the part number from your local Mitsubishi dealer and do a search of the part number online. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  5. I have a 2001 mitsubishi galant 4 cylinders my battery died and it was replaced but now my stereo car doesnt work it needs a code any help?

  6. David, radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Mitsubishi dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  7. Norvi, you have to ground your aftermarket radio to the chassis (vehicle frame) when you don’t have a factory ground wire in the stereo wire harness. Simply ground your wire to the chassis (look below).

    1. Find some bare metal on your vehicle (somewhere near your factory radio harness). Make sure this bare metal touches the chassis (frame) of the vehicle.

    2. Connect a ring terminal to the black wire coming off your aftermarket radio harness.

    3. Use a self tapping screw to attach the black wire with ring terminal to the bare metal.

Hope this helps. Good luck with grounding your car stereo.

  8. I bought a 2001 mitsubishi for my daughter recently. I would like to know if it is possible to splice in an input port (headphone jack) so she could play her IPod through the existing stereo. It has a the stock radio with a seperate 6 cd changer and infinaty speaker system. all factory installed in dash. Please let me know if this is possible. maybe use the cd input from the changer to the radio………i would like to tap into it directly rather then using a fm stereo tranmitter to the radio from our past experiences these usually have a por quality sound with interferance at times……thank you.

  9. Greg, you will need a bluetooth transmitter. A bluetooth transmitter will allow you to connect any bluetooth device to your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:

Aux Input Adapter for 2001 Mitsubishi Galant

This particular auxiliary input adapter does run on FM frequency but not through the air. It provides an audio signal directly to the back radio through the antenna plug so there is no interference. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Mitsubishi Galant aux installation.

  10. I have an 2001 mitsubishi galant es. Im trying to put in another stereo because the one in it wasn’t done right. The harness plug in only has wires for constant power, switched power and illumination. Then there is another one that has four component style slide on plugs and one single wire labeled amp turn on. How do I know which plug is for what channel and can I just use the low level outputs on my stereo with a “y”? Or do I wire my speaker level outputs into those?
