  1. I have a 2001 Ford Focus. How can I hook up a subwoofer with amplifier to this unit. also why does the radio stay on when car is shut off.

  2. Art, we currently don’t have instructions on how to hook up a subwoofer with an amplifier but will soon. Your radio is staying on because you may have mixed up your Constant 12v+ Wire with your Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. Hello i had a question about my 2001 ford focus alarm starter, every yr it kepps disconnecting, can i connect it back ? and were would the wiring be?

  4. Ivana, not all car alarms are installed the same way. Different brands and different setups will call for different wiring. Our advice is to take your car to a qualified alarm installer and ask them to troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  5. hello im just trying to connect an amp to my standard 2001 ford focus stereo but dont know which wire is the remote wire that connects to the amp?? thanks

  6. Ashley, technically you could connect your 2001 Ford Focus amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2001 Ford Focus is on and off whenever your 2001 Ford Focus is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

  7. I replaced the stock radio with a pioneer one a long tim ago and everything was perfect but out of no where radio stopped working. I checked the fuses and I don’t think that’s it. Looked at wires on this one you have a wire I do not have. Help please

  8. Alex, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by pulling each fuse and making sure it is not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your factory amplifier may be faulty or the audio output from your radio is faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Ford Focus radio troubleshooting.

  9. Hey i have a 2001 ford focus zx3. im trying to find where my auxiliary audio jack is so i can play my music through my stereo system. any idea where that could be? if i have one.

  10. Dan, you will need a bluetooth transmitter. A bluetooth transmitter will allow you to connect any bluetooth device to your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:

Aux Input Adapter for 2001 Ford Focus

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Ford Focus bluetooth transmitter installation.

  11. Dan, our stock focus stereos do not have an auxiliary input. The best option for sound is to replace the deck, but there are definitely other options available! The item in ModifiedLife’s link still utilizes FM modulation is definitely on of the least expensive route. Good Luck!

  12. Why does my 2001 ford focus have 3 factory plugs? I bought a wire harness to install an aftermarket stereo, but it only has 2 plugs. After I put my factory stereo back in it will not turn off with the key, only when i push the power button. I did nothing at all to the factory harness. anyone know?
