Carolyn, an aftermarket stereo installation into a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta will require a dash kit, wiring harness adapter and antenna adapter. There are plenty of people who have utilized their factory amp and existing speakers with an aftermarket radio. As long as you find a knowledgeable car stereo installer, you should have nothing to worry about. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 2000 VW Jetta with - VW factory stereo deck w/Cassette and Monsoon Sound System, and CD changer. I want to replace the head unit with a new aftermarket unit that has a single CD, ipod connection and built-in bluetooth. I have talked to an installer who told me that I would need a dash kit and wiring harness adapter. Would I also have to have a VW antenna adapter? I was also told that because it's a Monsoon System, they might have to re-do all the speaker wires. This would be quite expensive. Could you tell me if it indeed would be necessary to re-wire for the speakers? I planned on utilizing the existing speakers. Any help, advice or input would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!
