how do you bypass the alarm system.

Barry, if you’re asking about bypassing the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee immobilizer for remote start then you will need a immobilizer bypass module:

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Immobilizer Bypass Module (Requires Key and Programming)

If you’re asking about removing or turning off your alarm, it would be hard to say because we don’t know what car alarm is installed in your 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. As much as we would like to help you, not all car alarms are installed the same way. Different brands and different setups will call for different wiring. Our advice is to take your car to a qualified alarm installer and ask them to remove the alarm because it does take some wiring knowledge and experience to know what to remove. Hope this helps. Good luck on your 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee alarm removal.
