  2. Im putting a new cd player in my 1999 Dodge Durango I have everything hooked up the power comes on but im not getting any sound out of the speakers is there something I need to do to get them to work

  3. Darrick, your vehicle may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we don’t have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  4. Darrick, after making the connections above, try using the left over green wire and hook up your amp trigger wire to it. This wire should turn on your factory amp to produce sound. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  5. I’m having the same problem but what left over green wire? I have white 2 wire connector left over (purple and white/blk stripe) and a black brown strpe wire left over after using the after market harness. which wire is the amp turn on for the factory system?

  6. Philip, the speed sensor wire for your 1999 Dodge Durango is located at the PCM. The PCM is located inside the passenger side front fender. Use the White/Orange wire located at pin 27 in the PCM wiring harness. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  7. i just installed an aftermarket cd player in my 99 dodge durango, my problem is that i cant get any power to turn it on. The cd player worked in my last car, but i cant figure out the problem with this. The factory ground wire was different from what i was used to seeing, could this be the problem and how do you fix it?

  8. Dooby, its probably a grounding issue. We advise you ground the radio on the vehicle chassis. Hope this helps. Good luck with your radio install.

  9. i tried to install a aftermarket cd player in a 99 durango slt (w infinity) it turnded on just fine but i could not get any sound. is there a harness for 99 durangos with a factory amp?

  10. i have a 99 dodge ram. i pulled the factory radio out and put an aftermarket kenwood headunit in. all the wiring is hooked up right but it wont play sound.

  11. Jefferson23, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1999 Dodge Ram may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 1999 Dodge Ram stereo installation.

  12. 1999 Dodge Durango Car Radio with factory amplifier. There is no left over green wire to hook up, only a white one. But there is no response from the Amp. What can i do to start the Amp?

  14. I am installing Kenwood KDC-BT848U in my 1999 dodge Durango. An was wondering what wires I hook to the dimmer wire on my deck. There is only one wire comin from the Durango but two from the head unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  15. I need help on my 1999 dodge durango. I wired a Sony deck but when I turn the car off the memory ain’t working so what can I do to fix it.

  16. Richard, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 1999 Dodge Durango is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1999 Dodge Durango radio installation.
