  1. i can get the cd player on in my 99 300m but its got a stock infinity sound system and it has an amplifier also and for some reason when i get the cd player on no volume comes out no matter how loud it is or what mode its on and ive tried four different cd players and all of them have the same problem i think its because the wiring harness they make for installing them dont include the third adapter i need to plud the amp into my new stereo im not sure but if you have any idea how to help me please let me know thanks

  2. Joe, your vehicle has a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we don’t have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. I have the same problem but i dont understand. i have the correct wire harness for the aftermarket radio. there is no orang/red ant trigger. and the blue/white wire is the AMP TURN-ON (12v+). I have only 3 wires from my radio unused. the solid blue (remote turn on, and om’d to be a hot wire) another blue solid wire, but from the harness thats for ANT POWER, and the orange from the harness for ILLumination (dont need right?) so leaving me with another wire unused from the stock thats purple and unknown to me. am i suppose to cut and strip that purple one to a ground? No one so far knows and I’m too poor to send it in. It took me forever for all this stuff anyways. and i have subs too but not hooking it up until i know what wires to connect for sound on my radio. PLEASE AND THANKS

just connect the blue wire of the after market stereo with the blue one with white stripe on the wire harness you bought!!

  5. Can I install a aftermarket amp and stereo headunit and still use the steering wheel controls and/or stock in dash cd player?

  6. Adam, there are some steering wheel control adapters that allow you to use your factory steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio. Here is the adapter you need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your steering wheel controls installation.

  7. I have a 1999 Chrysler Sebring Convertable with the stock Infinity system. A drink spilled on the passenger side seat dropped into the amp causing the amp to smoke the front right speakers. As I understand it, there are six speakers in the car. What sizes are they? and where are the dash speakers???? Can you still get infinity speakers for that model? Thanks for any info, Steve

  8. Problems all the way from Sweden! Need the 4 digit code to the original stereo in a 300M -99. Found four digits written down in the manual but they did not work. Cant find anything on the famous World Wide Web. Anyone (please)?

Hi folks. Ive been searching, researching, and re-researching my ’99 300M stereo and stereo wiring harnesses for a subwoofer/amp install, along with an aftermarket alpine system. I have the premium sound system in mine, with the amp in the trunk. For those of you as confused as i used to be before i got everything in, if your planning on installing a secondary amp, you will need a deck(stereo) with RCA jacks in the back. Your 300M’s power antenna trigger wire, IS YOUR AMP TURN ON wire. The 300M doesnt have a power antenna, which leaves your new stereo’s power antenna wire open, you should be able to wire your subwoofer amp to that one to turn it on– if not, splice the new amp wire into the stereo’s amp turn on wire. Then run the sub amp’s power wires from the battery to the trunk, ground it first, run your RCA cables and your amp turn on cables to the trunk as well, standard procedure. The hardest part for me was getting the wire colors matched up– because none of them did, from any of the reference sites I used.

there was a purple/yellow wire which i had no clue what it was, because it didnt exist here on the internet of all places… while i still dont know what that does, i sure as hell can tell you it is NOT the amp turn on wire, we sent 12V+ down it, and my 300M’s anti-theft mechanisms started… so beware, if you terminate that cable… some lowlife might have the slightest possibility of being able to hotwire your car, because some of your anti theft has been disabled.

    Hope this helps!

  10. all you need to do to get the factory amp to work is to buy a wiring harness to connect the factory wiring to your aftermarket stereo… hook the blue wire from your stereo to the blue wire on the harness then plug it in… It will work perfectly, I did it myself and I had no problems

  11. posted this in the wrong place before. i dont know if this has already been answered but my car has a white plug for the receiver from what i understand this is to turn on the 1999 Chrysler 300M infinity amp. i need to know what wire this should be connected to coming off my aftermarket receiver. anyone? thanks

  12. Spent FOREVER working on this problem, could not for the life of me figure it out…its the “Antenna Trigger Wire: Orange/Red” that controls the factory Amps power switch, but i also had found an old harness that was bought a few months before that i misplaced, and it was the blue wire on that one. So on one harness it was the orange/red, on another brand of harness it was blue..
