  1. I am wondering why my tail lights and dash lights do not work. This happened after I put in a CD player in. It is a 1999 Dodge Neon. If any ideas please email me back.
    Thank you

  2. Aaron, the dash lights on some vehicles are tied into the radio wiring. Double check your dimmer and illumination wire connections. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. Armando, it sounds like you blew out a fuse or two. Double check ALL your fuses and you will probably find a blown fuse somewhere. Sometimes when you short out your radio fuse, other fuses may also blow out. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  4. 1998 Neon. Radio turns on, it scans, lights are on, clock works and reset time works. I don’t hear anything. All connections behind the radio look good. Help

  5. Karen, your 1998 Dodge Neon may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1998 Dodge Neon amplifier wiring.

  6. 2001 Dodge Neon…radio does not work, however, clock on the radio stays on all the time. It will blink every now and then. Even when the car is shut off…tried different radios…none of them worked…maybe it’s a fuse? Where is the radio fuse for 2001 Dodge Neon? The clock has drained my battery a couple times. Just want to pull the fuse until I get the wiring fixed. Then again, is it a wiring issue? Or a radio issue? Even some auto part dealers are baffled…please help:)

  7. hi i just installed a new deck in my 98 neon every thing works fine the dvd player the 11″ screan .. it plays the dvd and every thing .. but my problem is my speakers wont play any sound .. i double checked the wires and all the wires are conected to the right color but the speakers dont work i dont even get static

  8. Bruce, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1998 Dodge Neon may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 1998 Dodge Neon stereo installation.

  9. I have a ’98 Neon that has had recurring audio dropout ever since I bought in in March of 2008; had the main and ground wires replaced week before last, but still happening; repeated attempts to trigger the CD mechanism do pay off sometimes, but it’s a frustrating process – WHEN it works …..experienced hard starting for several months and the ‘Service Engine Soon’ light has gone on and off – determined that the code corresponds to a bad O2 sensor or sensors, but last night the car wouldn’t turn over – this despite having the easiest start for the first time in a long while when leaving my house…..thought it was related to climate (temperature/moisture) considerations at this time of year hasn’t been limited to the wintertime either. Anyhow, guy from AAA thought it was the fuel pump but, upon changing around the power box relays, the car DID start on a second attempt (he heard the pump kick in) and I’m taking the car again to my mechanic in a bit…..my question: COULD a failing fuel pump relay cause a short/audio dropout in the radio (not the OEM unit; now have a Pioneer) under certain conditions? Thanks!
