Shane, a loose wire would cause your radio fuse to blow. Our suggestion is that if you already paid to have an audio installation shop look at your problem they should warranty their work. Our suggestion is to take it back to that shop and tell them that you're still experiencing the same problem. They should take care of it without charging you extra. Hope this helps. Good luck with troubleshooting your audio problem.

Steve, the reason why your not getting any audio when you play the CD is because the amplifier is not being turned on. Take the blue/white amplifier turn-on (also called the remote turn-on) wire on your Sony radio and make sure its hooked up to white wire in your factory harness. This should turn on your amplifier when your radio is playing and when your CD is playing. Hope this helps. Good luck with your radio installation.

I am trying to connect a new Sony CD player to my 1994 jeep grand Cherokee. The radio is working fine but when i switch it to play a CD, there is no sound at all. I was wondering if anybody knew what is the cause or has a diagram to show me witch wires connect to each other. I think it has something to do with a blue and white wire or i have to purple wires not sure if they are connected correctly.

Thanks

Tony, it sounds like your radio is dead. Usually one part of the radio such as the cd player, the speaker output, etc. goes out before the entire radio dies. Our advice is to get an experienced audio installer to put in a new radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Original Infinity Radio in my 94 Grand Cherokee has gone dead. Checked the radio fuse and it looks good. Other relevent info: display on cd player went blank way before the radio went out. Also had Sirius radio added after the fact (and it was wired into current radio by best buy tech). Sirius was added a couple years ago with no issues. Cig lighter has been out even longer then all of the above. Any ideas? Figure it could be the amp or something I'm not aware of. thanks for any help.

your site was very helpful in the installation of my car stereo, much more so than the company's website, or the customer service rep who kept telling me to get it installed professionally.

i'll be sure to bookmark the site, and tell anyone in know in need of the information where they can find it.

thanks
