can you tell me where the factory harness for the 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 is for the radio? I have been told that the harness has to be re-routed which I can do if I know where it is to be re-routed from. anyone?
Ive installed numerous stereo systems in all my vehicles but my 1994 gmc sierra is something i havent encountered before. first problem i have is there are two separate units. In the front middle of the dash is a cassette player and then right to the right of the steering wheel is a second unit used to control the ac and radio and its actually a twp piece set the ac is actually a separate unit with the radio panel stacked over it to look as one…. so my first question i suppose is when installing my new stereo do i have to deal with both of these separate units and if so an explanation of the process would be great. And my second problem is that the wiring for both units appear to be hard wired, granted i actually didnt take the units themselves apart to look inside and see but typically when i remove a factory unit there is simply a wiring harness to remove and i go from there whether i re wire or use a harness. How do i solve this problem and help would be great as id love to avoid paying a professional installer to do it. anyone?
