I have A 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII with the premium jbl speakers system in it. I’m trying to install an after market stereo deck, but am having problems because of the factory amplifier that is installed. Is there a way to by-pass the amp or otherwise get my audio up and running without having to re-wire my entire car?
Randall, your 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII has a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Can you tell me where the AMP is located on my ’95 Mark VIII and how I can test it? My radio seems to be working fine except there is no sound. The radio is P2F5FLF-19B 165 – BC. Thanks, Jim
hey jim the amp is located in the trunk by your third light is a black cover pull it down and you will see it.
i’m having the same trouble as randall except i get the amp to come on in the back, but only half of the amp is working. the right side speakers work and the left side does not work. any sugestions?
