First off, Stephen, the ground would likely be different on each as it was only labeled “chassis” in my case, the wire happened to be black. But as long as it worked. My issue was the Left Rear Positive- labeled here as Gray/White. Mine was actually Green/White. But I have a feeling my rear speakers are busted or not wired.

Secondly, I want to say THANKS!!! This diagram was so easy to read (as it was words) and accurate, I was previously frustrated with trying to figure out which was which- all solved in 30 seconds. I wish I had known about ML sooner! HAPPY AS A CLAM!

The stereo wiring diagram for the 1990 Jeep Cherokee is basically correct accept the Car Radio Ground Wire was actually grey. I also noticed that you said the Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-) was black which is correct. Thank you very much for your wiring diagrams. They have helped me install stereo heads and also to install speakers.
